Mel Rothberg, BE, M.B.A. the Company minority owner is Chairman and CEO of Rothberg Associates, Inc. a business development consulting firm focused on high technology business and particularly bioscience oriented technology and Chairman and CEO of Advanced Processing and Imaging, Inc. a software development company focused on document management. Over the last 30 years he has participated in the development of the South Florida bioscience industry and is presently Chairman of Bioflorida's South Florida Bioscience Consortium and a recent finalist for the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Heroes Award in Biomedical. He has held executive positions in both the medical device and biopharmaceutical sectors, most recently as Executive Vice President, Operations of Viragen Inc., in Plantation, Florida (VRA: AMEX) and Director of Viragen International Inc.(VGNI: OTCBB) and Viranative AB (Sweden). He was responsible for manufacturing, regulatory, business development, marketing and sales of Viragen's lead drug Multiferon which was produced and sold in nine countries including Sweden where it was developed and manufactured. Prior to Viragen, he was Vice President of Manufacturing and Business Development for Althin Medical a Swedish publicly traded company focused on the hemodialysis machine and disposables market. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Chemical Engineering degree and has an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
